Your file

Fill in a date, time, duration and distance.

Made in your browser; nothing is uploaded to FNISH. The file contains your averages, not GPS.

When to use it

  • Your watch or bike computer ran out of battery mid-ride.
  • You forgot to press start, or saved the wrong activity.
  • You trained on a gym bike or treadmill without a device.
  • You want your weekly hours and training load to be complete.

What’s in the file

A standard activity: a session and a lap with your totals, plus a data point every five seconds with your average speed, heart rate, power and cadence. It’s built with Garmin’s official FIT SDK and passes its integrity check.

Keep it honest

Enter what you actually did. Made-up efforts don’t make you fitter, and they make every training load number less useful, including your coach’s.

Questions

What is a FIT file?

FIT (Flexible and Interoperable Data Transfer) is the file format Garmin and most bike computers and watches use to store activities. Training platforms such as Garmin Connect and Strava read it.

How do I import it into Garmin Connect?

On the Garmin Connect website, open the upload or import option in the menu, choose Import Data, select the .fit file and confirm. The activity then appears in your list and syncs to connected apps.

How do I upload it to Strava?

On the Strava website, use the upload option, choose File, and select the .fit file. Strava creates the activity from it.

Does the file include a GPS route?

No. It contains your duration, distance and the averages you enter, so your training totals are right. It won't draw a map.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The file is built in your browser and downloaded straight to your device. Nothing is uploaded to FNISH.

Why would my numbers look flat?

Because the file uses your averages for the whole session. Your totals, time and distance are right; the graphs will be flat lines.

Your finish starts here.

One race. One complete plan. An app that brings your training, fueling practice and race-day preparation together around the race you’re training for.
